The South American bird, which lives in the cloud forests of the Andes, is not only an eye-catcher, but can also perform impressive dance movements. Their spectacular courtship dances make them real stars in the bird kingdom. The females, on the other hand, are rather inconspicuous, with brownish feathers that help them hide. During the mating season, males gather in loud arenas where they jump, scream and shake their heads to impress the females. The females then choose the best dancer, mate and build a nest of mud on a rocky surface. They lay two white eggs and hatch them for 25 to 28 days.
