There are no traffic signs or souvenir shops, just 18 kilometers of mud, cliffs and spectacular views leading to one of the most remote beaches in Hawaii in the United States: Kalalau Beach, on the island of Kauai. The only overland access is the Kalalau Trail, a demanding route that crosses valleys and steep coasts. In summer, some go kayaking, but a camping permit is always needed.
