Famous for its beauty at any station, Arashiyama is one of the most charming places in Kyoto. In spring, the blooming cherries had the landscape pink, and in autumn, the maple leaves covered it with red and golden shades. One of its best-known symbols is the Togetsukyo Bridge, which crosses the serene Katsura River and offers spectacular views of the hills. The Sagano bamboo forest, with its tall stems swaying with the wind, creates a magical and peaceful atmosphere. Also here is Tenryu-ji Temple, famous for its Japanese Dry Garden, a World Heritage Site. To complete the tour, the Sagano scenic train runs through Hozugawa Gorge, an ideal trip to enjoy the changing landscapes.
