Today is the 25th anniversary of World Turtle Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the protection of these fascinating animals. The American Tortoise Rescue (ATR), the organization that spearheaded this initiative, has rescued and relocated more than 4,000 turtles and galapagos since 2000, fighting to conserve both the specimens and their endangered habitats.
