Today, we celebrate Pi Day, a special day to commemorate the mathematical constant that links the circumference of a circle to its diameter. The reason for choosing March 14th is that the first important number of PI (3.14) corresponds to this date. Pi is an irrational number, which means its decimal representation never ends or repeats. The earliest attempts at calculation can be traced back to the ancient civilizations of Babylon and Egypt around 1900 BC.
