Zahara de la Sierra is a dazzling white village in the Cadiz Mountains that combines the history and nature of the southern center of the Iberian Peninsula. This charming enclave is located at the top of a rocky mountain and is famous for its turquoise Zahara Reservoir Gast and lush Gracalema Mountains Nature Park, which was designated as a biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 1977. Its Arab castle ruins and 15th century tower evoke its past as a medieval fortress.
