(The braid of the river)

Do you know that Iceland, the land of fire and ice, has rivers formed by melting glaciers that have shaped its landscape for thousands of years? The largest glaciers, such as Vatnaj ö kull, Langj ö kull, and Hofsj ö kull, provide food for these unique rivers. The largest Vatnaj ö kull covers an area of 7700 square kilometers, accounting for 10% of the island. When ice melts, water drags sediment, making the river appear milky white in contrast to volcanic terrain. In spring and summer, melting increases flow and constantly shapes the landscape. From the air, they look like real works of art flowing into the North Atlantic. These rivers are not only impressive, but also crucial for Iceland as their water powers hydroelectric power plants, making Iceland a leader in clean energy.
