Picture an impala grazing peacefully, its sleek, tan coat blending almost seamlessly with the landscape. As it moves gracefully, it is not alone. Perched atop its back, a small bird with a striking red bill and sharp claws – the red-billed oxpecker – is working diligently. The oxpecker has an insatiable appetite for ticks and other parasites that cling to the impala's skin.
