Take a look at this colonnade, a testimony to colonial times and the typical Mexican atmosphere. Today we are in San Miguel de Allende, in the Guanajuato region, in the heart of Mexico. The city was built 1542 by Franciscans. Before the arrival of the Spaniards lived here the Guachichiles, an Indian tribe from the area. Today, the small town has just under 175,000 inhabitants and is rich in art galleries, craft shops and local markets that immerse you in Mexican culture.
