(Nice to meet you all!)

Why fly when you can glide? Happy World Penguin Festival! These flightless birds mainly live in Antarctica, with species ranging from emperor penguins to the star penguin Adria penguins currently depicted. In 1840, French adventurer Jules Dumont Durville discovered Adelia's penguins and paid tribute to his wife Adele Dorothy in her name. Despite their small size, Adria's penguins have superb swimming skills and can dive below 175 meters to search for krill or fish. They are social animals that gather in small colonies to search for food, hunt, and protect themselves. Although this may seem like a prank, Adrians steal pebbles from nearby nests to strengthen their nests and protect their eggs and chicks from the harsh conditions and predators in Antarctica.
