The Negro River, originating in Colombia, is one of the dozens of tributaries that flow into the massive Amazon River. His name comes from his dark exterior when viewed from a distance. Therefore, water can reflect the colorful hues of the sky, such as the bright blue and some rainbows seen here. The color of the river comes from high concentrations of humic acid, which is attributed to the decomposition of organic matter filtered out from nearby swamps. The Negro River is one of the largest tributaries on the north bank of the Amazon River and plays a crucial role in the complex ecosystem of the Amazon Basin. This river has many flora and fauna, such as the endangered Brazilian Tamarino, the giant Rio otter, and nearly 700 species of fish.
