The bright light of the full moon is reflected by burning lanterns rising into the sky during the Thai Yi Peng Festival. It is a beautiful celebration and takes place around the second full moon this season ("yi" means "two" and "peng" means "full moon day"). Our photo shows the lanterns in Chiang Mai, the second largest city in Thailand and home of the most famous Yi Peng festival, which is closely linked to the Lanna people in northern Thailand.
