沙海中的绿洲(An oasis in a sea of sand)

Tafilalet means "jug" in the language of the ancient Amazigh people (also called Berber) "and this is certainly a fitting name for the largest oasis in Morocco. After the establishment of the first permanent settlement in the region, Sijilmassa, in 757 A.D., Tafilalet became a stop for caravans travelling from Niger to Tangier at the northern tip of Morocco, the gateway to Europe.
