New Year celebrations are not always accompanied by fireworks; Sometimes, they celebrate with buckets and the National Water Splashing Festival. Songkran is a traditional festival in Thailand, a unique combination of spiritual customs and water warfare. It takes place from April 13th to 15th, rooted in Buddhist tradition, focusing on purification and the beginning of a new cycle. These days, people visit temples, provide food for monks, and pour perfume on the hands of Buddhas and elderly people to show respect.
