The giant sepia inhabits the temperate and subtropical waters of Australia, from Brisbane, Queensland, to Tasmania. In Whyalla, South Australia, these creatures star in an impressive natural spectacle: a gender imbalance where males, far outnumbered by females, compete fiercely for mating. Also known as the Australian giant sepia, it boasts the title of the largest of its kind on Earth.
