In the center of Paris stands one of the city's most enduring landmarks: the Notre Dame Cathedral. Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris was built between the 12th and 13th centuries and is located on the island of the city. It has witnessed centuries of French history, from the Hundred Years' War to the French Revolution. Although Napoleon chose her to be crowned in 1804, she deteriorated in the early 19th century. Victor Hugo's novel 'Our Lady of Paris' propelled a revival and restored its glory.
