Today, as we celebrate the establishment of Sequoia National Park in 1890, we take the first step towards understanding natural wonders. The park has over 1600 square kilometers of biodiversity and protects giant redwood trees that have survived for thousands of years. By studying General Sherman, a creature 83 meters high and 11 meters wide, we are directly connected to the past of our planet. It is crucial to consider these treasures as part of our own cultural heritage, just like decorating castles, palaces, and national parks in Europe. Nature and human history intertwine between the roots of these redwoods, teaching us that, just like art and history, nature is a classroom without walls.
