The Peggys Point Lighthouse is located on a steep granite outcrop and is a resilient guardian of the coast of Nova Scotia, Canada. This 15 meter high lighthouse was built in 1914, reflecting the enduring spirit of Canada's maritime provinces. Its lighthouse was first lit in 1915. The current lighthouse has replaced the wooden structure built in 1868, which was damaged by Hurricane Edna in 1954.
