When you think of Greece, you can imagine the sea, beaches, gray white buildings, and blue domes. However, this country goes far beyond these. In this photo, you can see the Monastery of Rusanu, located between towering cliffs in a rocky formation called Meteora in northern Greece's Thessalonia. Legend has it that in the 14th century, a group of monks seeking refuge in political instability climbed these cliffs and established their hideouts. Lusano is one of the six monasteries of Meteora, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
