Eibsee is located approximately 100 kilometers southwest of Munich and is one of the most beautiful and clean lakes in the Bavarian Alps. Its name comes from Yew Tree (also known as Eiben in German), which used to grow extensively here and can still be found in nearby forests today. The lake has eight beautiful islands, formed approximately 4000 years ago by a massive landslide. It is located at the foot of Zugspitze, the highest mountain in Germany, and you can see it reflected in the clear Teal waters on our home page.
