Duanwu Festival
The DuanWu Festival is one of the four major traditional festivals in China. In addition to eating zongzi, there are many unique folk customs during the Dragon Boat Festival, such as the sachets made of colorful silk threads in today's picture. This is sold at the temple fair that started on the eve of the Dragon Boat Festival in Jilin City.
In traditional Chinese culture, the five colors "green, red, white, black, and yellow" that symbolize the five elements of the five directions are regarded as auspicious colors. It was once a very popular festival custom to tie the arms with five-color silk threads during the Dragon Boat Festival. It was passed down to later generations and developed into many beautiful ornaments such as longevity threads, longevity locks, and sachets. The production has become more and more refined, becoming a unique folk art for the Duanwu Festival Festival.
