Spring in Hangzhou, China
The Spring equinox has two meanings. One is "equal seasons". Traditionally, the period between the beginning of spring and the beginning of summer is called spring, and the vernal equinox falls between two solar terms, dividing spring equally. The other meaning is "equal day and night". At the vernal equinox, the sun shines directly on the equator and day and night are of equal length, 12 hours each. After the Spring Equinox, the whole of China enters a bright spring, except for the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Northeast China, Northwest China and the northern part of North China.
Many flowers bloom slowly after the spring equinox, such as the cherry blossom, which is one of the most representative flowers of spring. In fact, there are many varieties of cherry blossom in ancient China. During the Qin and Han dynasties, cherry blossom cultivation was already used in palaces, with a history of more than 2,000 years. In the Tang Dynasty it was widely planted in private gardens. In garden landscaping, cherry blossoms can be planted in groups to create a "sea of flowers" landscape, as street trees, or in rows by the lake. Today's pictures show the cherry blossoms in full bloom in Hangzhou in spring and the cruise ships on the lake. This is a great place to enjoy the spring garden water landscape.
