Spring Equinox

Most parts of China have entered a bright spring at the Spring Equinox. At this time, the severe cold has passed and the temperature has risen rapidly. After the Spring Equinox, people begin to go out one after another. Among outdoor activities, kite flying is an important item. In ancient times, there was also the custom of wearing flowers on hair and drinking wine during the spring equinox. On this day, men, women, and children would wear flowers on their hair.
Cherry blossoms are indigenous to the temperate Circum-Himalayan region of the Northern Hemisphere. The first cherry blossoms of this kind were the Chinese cherry blossoms, which include the mountain cherry blossoms and wild cherry blossoms. Wuhan's Qingliangzhai scenic area boasts an area of over 3,200 acres of Chinese cherry blossoms, with more than 110,000 plants. This is unparalleled in Wuhan and even in China. The cherry blossoms in this area bloom in three stages: early cherry blossoms around the 10th of March, middle cherry blossoms around the 25th of March, and late cherry blossoms around the 5th of April every year. The blooming period lasts around 15-20 days.
